Marcos to launch 911 national emergency hotline in July

2025/6/9 英字

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday said the government will soon launch the state-of-the-art national emergency hotline as an integral part of his administration’s campaign against criminality.

In a video message on his YouTube channel, Marcos stressed the priority of keeping the public safe from criminals.

Sinimulan natin ang pagde-deploy ng mas maraming pulis o ‘yung tinatawag nating ‘Cops on the Beat,’” said the President in his “BBMVLOG #270: Mga Pagbabago.”

“Ginagawa na rin itong emergency hotline natin at sigurado ako in just a few weeks, baka sa Hulyo pwede na, ay ma-launch na namin ito,” the Chief Executive stressed.

The President also cited new Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III’s campaign for increased police visibility and a five-minute response time in case of an emergency.

The Unified 911 Emergency System will start in the National Capital Region, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Ilocos Region, and Central Visayas.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said the emergency hotline utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure a quick response from frontline units, such as the PNP and the Bureau of Fire Protection, while screening prank and nuisance calls.

During the vlog, the President also listened to some feedback about the renewed police presence in the streets, and noted the considerable service to the public when they feel secure. Presidential News Desk
