The bodies of seven male employees of a bakery, including two minors, were found with stab wounds in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City on Tuesday morning.
In a statement released by the Rizal Police Provincial Office (RPPO), the victims were stabbed inside the the J&B Malunggay Bakery while they were asleep.
Police said they received a report at 7:40 am from a barangay watchman about a stabbing incident. Led by Antipolo's acting chief of police, cops went to the crime scene.
The suspect, who is a baker, surrendered to the Headquarters Support Service at Camp Crame before 10 am. The suspect, known as alias Bogart, was brought to the Antipolo Police Station.
He claimed that the seven was planning to kill him after they said during a birthday party Monday night that they were going to kill him.
After the party ended, the suspect used a kitchen knife and a fan knife to stab the seven.
Calls for help were allegedly heard from the bakery around 11 pm on Monday night, yet local residents did not respond, according to Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo, acting chief of Antipolo City Police.
The suspect claimed he acted in self-defense, saying in a video released by the Police Regional Office 4A that his employees were planning to kill him after they had gotten him drunk at the party.
The suspect has undergone inquest for multiple murder and the bodies of the victims will undergo autopsy. Yzabela Velez White/DMS
