At least eight persons perished in the two earthquakes that shook the Davao Region on Friday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
The first tremor, magnitude 7.4 in Manay, Davao Oriental, occurred in the morning while the second, which took place in the same area, was magnitude 6.9
The number of injured reached 385, with 282 reported in the Davao Region and 113 in Caraga, the NDRRMC said in a situation report on Sunday.
A total of 125.283 families were affected by the earthquakes or equivalent to 491, 258 persons, NDRRMC said. Out of the total, 1939 families or 8,440 families are inside evacuation centers.
Damage to infrastructure reached P100,258, with P87. 295 logged in the Davao Region. DMS
