Thirteen drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) tested positive for illegal drugs during random testing by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Bicol and Cebu on Tuesday.
In Bicol, 10 drivers were found positive at the Bicol Central Station in Naga and Legazpi Grand Terminal in Legazpi.
Five were bus drivers, four were driving tricycles and one is an UV Express driver.
They were among the 193 drivers who were subjected to a drug test as part of PDEA’s operations in support of the Land Transportation Office’s program to protect commuters during the Holy Week break.
In Cebu City, three PUV drivers tested positive for drug use.
They were among the 109 drivers from Cebu North and South bus terminals were tested for illegal drugs.
The drivers who tested positive will undergo confirmatory tests and endorsed to the LTO. DMS
