Presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos and Las Pinas Rep. Camille Villar, both competing for the last two senatorial slate in the 2025 midterm elections in various surveys, were adopted as guest candidates of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

In a resolution released by PDP-Laban on their Facebook page on Saturday, Marcos and Villar's inclusion in their senatorial slate was due to "their alignment with the Party's values and demonstrated commitment to advancing the interest of the Filipino people through public service."

The endorsement was also due to the need "for more allies in protecting the Vice President from impeachment," the resolution stated.

During the PDP-Laban's miting de avance on Friday, Vice President Sara Duterte announced she would vote for Marcos in the midterm polls.

"She (Imee Marcos) courageously opened the investigation on the kidnapping of government to a Filipino in the country to bring to the foreigners," Duterte said.

Duterte also announced her vote for Villar, recently under the gun as her father's water company as come under Palace scrutiny for failing to provide supply to some areas in Bulacan,

"I will also vote for Camille Villar because of her experience as a lawmaker in the House of Representatives that will contribute to a real change in the Senate," Duterte said.

Vice President Sara Duterte previously endorsed Marcos and Villar's senatorial candidacy in separate political advertisements.

With the inclusion of Marcos and Villar, the PDP-Laban, chaired by former President Rodrigo Duterte, now has 12 senatorial slate from its original Duter10. Completing 12 senatorial slates is practical for the Party, as stated in its resolution. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
