Vice President Sara Duterte said Tuesday that her lawyers are "confident" that they will win the impeachment case.

Duterte said in a chance interview in Cebu on Tuesday that her lawyers said that "they are more than confident that they will win the impeachment".

"As for me, I am most confident with the lawyers working on my impeachment case", Duterte said.

Her comment came as a Pulse Asia survey showed the approval and trust rating of Vice President climbing from 52 percent in February to 59 percent in March while her trust ratings rose by eight percentage points from 53 percent in February to 61 percent in March.

Duterte said she was ''surprised'' over her ratings amid accusations thrown against her.

"Well, I was surprised when I saw the numbers of people's trust in me because there are so many accusations against me over social media, politicians, and from all sides", Duterte added.

In February, the House of Representatives impeached Duterte. The impeachment will be held at the Senate on June 2 while the trial itself will begin at the 20th Congress on July 28. Marie Manalili/DMS
