Two people died while 16 others were injured in a collision involving three vehicles in Commonwealth, Quezon City on Sunday morning, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said.
QCPD head Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. said the incident occurred around 6:30am along Commonwealth Avenue northbound lane, corner of Kasunduan St., Barangay. Commonwealth. It involved a traditional passenger jeep, electric jeepney, and a sedan.
The three vehicles were travelling northbound from Tandang Sora Avenue toward Fairview when a traditional jeepney collided with the rear left portion of the electric jeepney, the former then crashed into the right side of the Toyota Vios.
Two male passengers of the traditional jeepney were declared dead after they fell out of the vehicle due to the impact of the collisions. They were rolled over by the same vehicle due to the impact of the collision, a television report said.
The 16 individuals who sustained injuries were brought to East Ave. Medical Center and Quezon City General Hospital for medical treatment.
Buslig said that Chito Tabilog, 37, driver of the traditional jeepney will be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, physical injury and damage to properties before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. Marie Manalili/DMS
