Vice President Sara Duterte has returned to the Philippines following an almost month-long trip to The Hague, Netherlands to be with her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte who was brought to The Hague upon his arrest by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“Vice President Sara Duterte arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Sunday, 06 April 2025, at approximately 9:56 pm... via Emirates Airlines flight no. EK 334, following her recently concluded trip to The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands, which took place last 12 March 2025,” the Office of the Vice President said in a media bulletin.
The OVP also announced that Duterte is expected to address any pertinent matters in the coming days.
She flew to The Hague on March 12, a day after her father was arrested on a warrant by the ICC on alleged crimes against humanity during his war on drugs.
She helped organize a legal team to defend her father in his case against the ICC.
Last weekend Duterte told reporters in The Hague that her ‘job here is done’, saying that the former President Duterte’s legal team was set and that she had filed the last documents needed at the ICC. Yzabela Velez-White/DMS
