Two of the six foreign hikers reported missing in Valencia, Negros Oriental were found Friday afternoon, police said.
The search for two Germans, a Russian, and a Canadian are still ongoing, police added.
Valancia Municipal Police Office Patrolman 1 Henry Japay said in a phone interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun that British national Alexander Radvanyi, 63, and German Torsten Martin Groschupp, 58, were found by rescuers along the route towards Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park in Baragay Malabo, Valencia.
“The rescuers found them in the location given by their wives who reported them missing last March 19,” Japay said.
Partners of the six foreigners reported them missing on the night of March 19 after they did not return return from their trek to the Twin Lakes.
“The weather is bad here in Valencia so the rescuers have had a hard time looking for the missing foreigners,” Japay added.
The two foreigners are receiving treatment at a local health center. Yzabela Velez-White/DMS
