Malacanang on Thursday announced the resignation of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy.
In a Viber message, Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. finally accepted the resignation of Uy.
"An OIC (officer-in-charge) will fill the position until the President appoints a secretary," she said.
As of press time, there are still no details why Uy resigned and who is his replacement.
Uy is the fifth high-ranking official of the Marcos administration, who left their posts since last month.
The others were Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) President and chief executive officer Emmanuel Ledesma, Jr., Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cesar Chavez, and Presidential Security Command (PSC) chief Maj. Gen. Nelson Morales. DMS
