The Bureau of Immigration deported two Japanese nationals on Monday.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado identified the two Japanese as Ito Shinya, 36, and Kawasaki Hiroyuki, 37, according to a Viber message by BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval.
Viado said Ito and Kawasaki were deported via Japan Airlines Flight JL746 bound for Narita.
According to BI, Kawasaki was about to board his flight to Singapore when he was arrested at the Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last August 14, 2024.
The Japanese government sought his arrest and deportation based on the charge of falsification of official documents and financial fraud.
On the other hand, Ito was arrested in an enforcement operation along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City last September 9.
Ito's arrest was due to his outstanding warrant of arrest for fraud and falsification of legal documents issued by the Osaka Summary Court in the same year. Robina Asido/DMS
