Eight people, including three minors, died while at least two others were injured in a Quezon City fire broke out early Thursday, with fire fighters putting it out after 46 minutes.
The fire razed a three storey residential house in No.18 19 De Agosto St,. Barangay San Isidro, in Galas reached first alarm around 2:02 am before it was placed under control at 2:26 am and finally extinguished by 2:48 am.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the National Capital Region (NCR) reported that the youngest victim who died was a two year old boy while the oldest fatality was a 40-year-old man.
One of the injured victims was identified as Jophel Samosa 36, who sustained a lacerated wound in his elbow.
In an interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun, Senior Fire Officer 4 Rolando Valena, Quezon City Fire District Arson Investigator said two dead persons were recovered near the stairs at the ground floor of the house.
The bodies of six others were found at the second floor.
Investigation showed that the fire originated on the second floor of the house.
Initial report said damage to properties because of the fire reached around P3,600,000. Robina Asido/DMS
