A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit Eastern Samar on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake was located 43 kilometers northeast of Hernani, Eastern Samar.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 012 kilometers.
Phivolcs said no damages are expected but aftershocks are possible.
Intensity was V was reported in Balangkayan, Hernani, Llorente, and Maydolong. While Intensity IV Balangiga, City of Borongan, General Macarthur, Giporlos, Guiuan, Lawaan, Mercedes, Quinapondan, Salcedo, San Julian, Sulat, and Taft in Eastern Samar while Intensity IV was recorded in Balangiga, City of Borongan, General Macarthur, Giporlos, Guiuan, Lawaan, Mercedes, Quinapondan, Salcedo, San Julian, Sulat, and Taft min Eastern Samar.
Intensity III was reported Arteche, Can-Avid, Dolores, Jipapad, Maslog, Oras, and San Policarpo, Eastern Samar; Alangalang, Babatngon, Barugo, Carigara, Dagami, Dulag, Jaro, La Paz, Leyte, Mayorga, Palo, Pastrana, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Tabontabon, Tanauan, Tolosa, and Tunga, Leyte; City of Tacloban; Basey, Calbiga, and Marabut in Samar.
Intensity II was felt in Abuyog, Burauen, Capoocan, Javier, Julita, Kananga, Macarthur, and Mahaplag, Leyte; Gamay, Lapinig, Mapanas, and Palapag, in Northern Samar and, Silago in Southern Leyte. Marie Manalili/DMS
