The Philippine National Police (PNP) has cleared the son of steel magnate Anson Que in his kidnapping and killing.
The latest development on the case of businessman’s murder came as PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil was angry with the leak of the extrajudicial confession of David Tan Liao, one of the principal suspects, accusing Que’s son, Rongxian Gou, also known as Alvin Tan, as the one who planned the killing.
“The chief PNP is very mad, galit si chief PNP. kung sino naglabas niyan, right here right now sabihin niyo ‘yung pangalan at kakasuhan namin,” PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said in a news briefing.
A television network's story said Que’s son was the mastermind, citing Liao’s extrajudicial confession as the source.
Fajardo said the Anti-Kidnapping Group will submit Friday before the Department of Justice a written motion amending their complaint, removing Alvin’s name from the list of respondents for preliminary investigation.
Que and his driver went missing on March 29. Their bodies were found on April 9. DMS
