The third quarter national Social Weather Station (SWS) survey conducted from September 24 to 30 shows that 56 percent want the administration to focus on "reducing the price of rice and other food products," while 31 percent believe that the government should focus on curbing corruption issues.

Economic concern in Mindanao was highest, with 61 percent, followed by Visayas with 59 percent and 55 percent in the Balance Luzon area.

However, the result shows that the people in the National Capital Region are more concerned about curbing corruption in the government, with 45 percent, while 44 percent voted for lowering the food prices.

The survey was conducted "using face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide: 300 in Metro Manila, 600 in Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), and 300 each in the Visayas and Mindanao." Robina Asido/DMS
