''Nando'', which intensified into a super typhoon is headed towards extreme northern Luzon, is expected to make landfall over Batanes or Babuyan Islands Monday afternoon and evening, the Philippine Atm ospheric, Geographical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its Sunday evening bulletin, Pagasa said ''Nando''-- which has winds of up to 195 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 240 kilometers per hour-- was located at 410 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.

Rain to the southwest monsoon will be felt in Metro Manila. The southwest monsoon and the trough of ''Nando'' will '' bring strong to gale-force gusts over Metro Manila and other areas, Pagasa added.
