The Philippines eased on Friday the security alert level in Iran, noting the "positive development" in the situation in the region.
In view of the positive developments in the security situation in Iran, the Department of Foreign Affairs lowered the alert level in Iran from Level 3 (voluntary repatriation) to Level 2 (restriction phase).
The DFA said downgrading of the security alert level takes effect "immediately."
"Despite the lowering of the alert level, the Philippine Embassy in Tehran will continue facilitating the voluntary repatriation of Filipinos," it said.
Alert Level 3 was elevated from Alert Level 1 on June 20 after Israel's attack against an Iranian nuclear site last month. Robina Asido/DMS
