2025/6/29 英字

Six Filipino workers arrived safely at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City early this morning aboard Emirates flight EK 334.

They were welcomed by OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan, DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega, DMW Assistant Secretary Venecio Legaspi, along with the MIA Medical Team, a social welfare officer from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The group consists of five overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) employed as shrimp hatchery technicians in Iran, and one OFW?a domestic worker based in Dubai?who had accompanied her employer to Iran as a tourist.

The repatriation was made possible through the efforts of the Philippine Embassy in Tehran, led by Ambassador Roberto Manalo, in close coordination with the DMW and OWWA.

Upon arrival, the workers received financial assistance from DMW, OWWA, and DSWD. They were also provided with food and medical services by the MIA Medical Team.

OWWA will provide temporary hotel accommodations and domestic flights back to their home provinces.

All of them were also served breakfast and joined by government officials who welcomed them at the airport.

In line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the repatriated workers will continue to receive reintegration assistance from the government.

Two more Filipino workers are expected to arrive Saturday night from Iran. This group marks the first batch of Filipinos repatriated from Iran following the June 13 Israel-Iran conflict. Department of Migrant Workers
