The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) completed another rotation and resupply (RORE) mission to Ayungin Shoal without any untoward incident during the celebration of the 83 anniversary of the Day of Valor on Wednesday.
Col. Xerxes Trinidad, AFP public affairs office chief said the RORE mission to BRP Sierra Madre (LS 57) "was carried out in close coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard and concluded without any untoward incident".
"As the nation marks the 83rd Anniversary of the Day of Valor, the AFP honors the courage and dedication of our soldiers aboard BRP Sierra Madre who continue to stand guard in the West Philippine Sea to uphold our sovereignty, sovereign rights and national interest," he said.
It is the 7th RORE mission to Ayungin Shoal that was successfully completed by the AFP without any untoward incident.
The China Coast Guard (CCG) stopped its provocative and dangerous activities against the Philippine vessels conducting RORE mission to BRP Sierra Madre after the thumb of a Filipino soldier was cut during the harassment of Chinese ships against Philippine vessels in Ayungin Shoal last June 17.
