A fire burned down 50 residential houses in Sitio Masagana, Alabang, Muntinlupa on Monday, the third day of the Fire Prevention Month.

In an interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun, Fire Officer 1 Levie Narito from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Muntinlupa said the estimated damages were more or less P2,000,000.

The fire was placed on the first alarm by 5:32 am and reached its highest third alarm by 6 am. At 6:40 am, the blaze went under control then was declared fire out by 7:08 am.

In an interview with DZBB , BFP Public Information Office (PIO) chief and spokesperson FIre Senior Superintendent Annalee Cabarjal-Atienza said electrical wiring cases are the top cause of fires. Kate Christian Arevalo/DMS
