Five fires occurred in residential areas in four cities in Metro Manila Sunday, the second day of the Fire Prevention Month.
No casualties were reported. Two fires took place in Quezon City.
A fire razed a house made of light materials in Barangay 848, Pandacan which was raised to 2nd alarm at 8:02 am and declared fire out by 9:02 am.
Another fire was recorded in M.A. Dela Cruz, Pasay which was placed on a first alarm by 11:18 am, under control by 11:25 am, and declared fire out by 11:31 am.
Two separate fires were recorded at 11 am in Barangay Pasong Tamo and Barangay Marilag, Project 4, both in Quezon City.
In Barangay Pasong Tamo, two houses were razed by fire which started on the third floor of a three-storey house. The incident was placed under first alarm by 11:09 am, placed under control by 11:28 am, and declared fire out by 11:44 am.
In an interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun, Quezon City Fire District (QCFD) Arson Investigator SFO4 Rolando Valena said they estimated P17,500 worth of damage.
A fire started on the second floor of a house made up of light materials in Barangay Marilag, Project 4 was set to first alarm by 11:40 am, raised to second alarm by 11:58 am, placed under control at 12:19 pm, and declared fire out by 12:40 pm.
The incident damaged properties estimated at P750,000 according to Valena.
The fifth fire took place in Barangay Manuyong Dos, Las Pinas City. It was raised to the first alarm by 3:40 pm, reached on second alarm by 3:43 pm, placed under control by 4:48 pm, and declared fire out by 5:36 pm. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
