Fourteen people were injured when a dump truck lost control while passing through a descending road in Tuy, Batangas.
In a phone call interview with Daily Manila Shimbun, PMaj. Broderick Noprada, OIC of Tuy Municipal Police Station said that around six in the morning, the truck enroute, to Tagaytay, hit a bus before losing control of the vehicle.
The dump truck toppled over four 4-wheeled vehicles, two tricycles, and a motorcycle parked near the convenience store.
“The truck driver lost control of the brake at a descending portion of the road in Sitio Palico when it hit a bus. The driver couldn’t control the dump truck, so it fell over seven vehicles before hitting the glass window of a convenience store,” Noprada said.
The fourteen injured, including the truck driver, were sent to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Investigation is ongoing as the victims and the dump truck driver discuss possible settlement or criminal liabilities. Yzabela Velez-White/DMS
