DOH reports 64% rise in dengue fever cases

2025/3/1 英字

The Department of Health (DOH) reported a 64 percent increase in dengue cases from January 1 to February 22 compared to the same period in 2024.

In a statement, the DOH said a total of 52,008 dengue cases were recorded from January 1 to February 22, or 64 percent higher than the 31, 670 cases recorded in the same period in 2024.

The health department said Calabarzon with 10,759 topped the areas with dengue fever cases followed by the National Capital Region 9,302, and Central Luzon 8,652.

It added that in recent weeks dengue cases slowed down. There were 14,460 cases from January 26 to February 8, compared to 15,550 cases during January 15 to 25.

The health department, though, said the slowdown is not a reason to be complacent.

It said this is the reason all government hospitals have been directed to reactivate "Dengue Fast Lanes" so those who are suspected to have dengue fever will be given immediate medical attention. DMS
