President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed interest in the expertise and technologies of Ukraine as he discussed several areas of cooperation with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday.
In his Facebook post, Marcos said his discussion with Zelenskyy was focused on the area where both countries can work together.
"We focused on cooperation in food security, agriculture, and digitalization," he said.
"As the Philippines assumes the Chairship of ASEAN, we also discussed ways to strengthen ASEAN–Ukraine engagement for the benefit of our peoples," he added.
In his X (twitter) account, Zelenskyy said aside from cooperation in food security, agriculture, and digitalization, "the Philippines is also interested in the expertise and technologies Ukraine can offer".
"We agreed that our teams will follow up on all these matters in the near future," he said.
During their conversation, the Ukrainian president expressed his gratitude "for the Philippines’ support for the peace efforts, for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the clear stance."
Zelenskyy also briefed Marcos on Ukraine's "joint work with the United States and other partners on the steps toward establishing a guaranteed peace." Robina Asido/DMS
