Presidential Legal Adviser Juan Ponce Enrile is in intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital, suffering from pneumonia, Senator Jinggoy Estrada told the Upper House on Tuesday.

The 101-year-old Enrile, one of the architects of the 1986 Edsa People Power Revolution, was rushed to a hospital, news reports said.

"I heard from a reliable source, a very, very reliable source, that he has slim chances of surviving," said Estrada told the Senate.

A moment of prayer for Enrile's recovery was led by Senator Joel Villanueva.

Katrina Ponce Enrile, the former Senate President's daughter, told the Philippine Star online that her father is in intensive care due to pneumonia.

Last October 24, the Sandiganbayan acquitted Enrile in his last graft case which alleged he diverted P172.8 million in government funds in the pork barrel scam. DMS
