PAF, JASDF conduct bilateral airdrop and airlift operations in Tacloban

2025/10/10 英字

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) conducted two major bilateral operations - a Low-Cost, Low-Altitude (LCLA) airdrop exercise and a humanitarian airlift mission - on Thursday in Tacloban City as part of Doshin-Bayanihan 05-25, the fifth Philippines?Japan Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) bilateral exercise.

The airdrop operation involved the joint deployment of PAF and JASDF C-130 aircraft, which released training cargo loads over Tacloban City to demonstrate precision airdrop techniques, interoperability, and rapid response capabilities in simulated disaster relief scenarios.

The exercise strengthened both air forces’ ability to coordinate effectively during humanitarian missions and respond swiftly in times of crisis.

Meanwhile, the airlift operation delivered real-world humanitarian assistance, as PAF and JASDF C-130 aircraft transported over 800 boxes of drinking water from Tacloban City to Lapu-Lapu City in support of ongoing HADR efforts in Northern Cebu.

This act of cooperation underscores the shared commitment of the Philippines and Japan to deliver life-saving aid and enhance regional disaster response readiness. Air Force Public Affairs Office
