General Romeo Brawner Jr., chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines , welcomed Generals Yoshihide Yoshida and Hiroaki Uchikura, outgoing and incoming chiefs of staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) in a virtual meeting held Wednesday.

The online engagement served as a courtesy call and symbolized the continuing strong defense cooperation between the AFP and JSDF.

Brawner expressed his appreciation to the outgoing JSDF Chief of Staff, General Yoshida for his commitment in strengthening Japan?Philippines military relations, particularly in capacity-building and regional security efforts.

He also conveyed his warm congratulations and support to General Uchikura, the incoming JSDF Chief of Staff, expressing hope that the strategic partnership will continue to grow under his leadership.
