Tropical depression ''Bising'' left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) after 12 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Friday.

Rains will persist in the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, due to the southwest monsoon, which has been affecting Philippine weather since May 30.

''Bising'' is the second tropical cyclone this year after ''Auring'', which entered the PAR on June 12 and exited on June 13.

Weather specialist Loriedin de La Cruz-Galicia said ''Bising'' was formed on Friday at 2 am.

Based on a 5 pm tropical cyclone bulletin, the center of ''Bising'' was located 345 kilometers west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan, with winds up to 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

The trough of ''Bising'' may dump 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall on Ilocos Norte starting July 4 to the afternoon of July 5, and Batanes from July 4 until the afternoon of July 6.

Ilocos, Batanes, and Bubuyan Island, through the trough of ''Bising'', will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, which may cause possible flash floods and landslides.

Bising will continue to move slowly northwestward in the next 12 hours. It may intensify into a tropical storm within the next 12 hours and further strengthen as it moves over the sea north of Taiwan.

It may re-enter on the western boundary on Monday morning and exit again on the northern boundary of the PAR afternoon of the same day. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
