The operation of LRT Line 1 from Libertad to Dr. Santos stations was temporarily suspended for eight hours on Wednesday following the electrical problem that occurred between Redemptorist-Aseana Station and Baclaran Station.
The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) limits the operation of LRT-1 from Fernando Poe Jr. Station to the southbound of Gil Puyat Station (for unloading) and Vito Cruz Station (for loading) and vice versa after the incident happened shortly before 9 am.
In an advisory, the LRMC confirmed that its Engineering Team is currently on-site, actively addressing an electrical problem.
"Simultaneously, our Team is conducting a thorough assessment of our catenary facilities to resolve the issues, followed by necessary repairs," it stated.
"These proactive measures are crucial for ensuring safety and reliability across the entire LRT-1 system," it added.
The operation of LRT-1 returned to normal around 5:38 pm after the LRMC successfully completed all necessary repairs and comprehensive assessments.
"Trains are now running from Fernando Poe Jr. Station to Dr. Santos Station and vice versa. Our dedicated Engineering and Maintenance Team at LRMC worked diligently to ensure the safety and efficiency of our services," it stated.
"We extend our sincere gratitude for the understanding and patience of our valued passengers during this period. We are committed to providing reliable and excellent transportation services," it added. Robina Asido/DMS
