The House of Representatives approved on third and final reading a bill approving a P200 daily wage hike for minimum wage workers in the private sector.

The vote was 171 yes, one no and no abstention, news reports quoted House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales as saying.

Senator Migz Zubiri urged his colleagues in the Upper Chamber to adopt the House version.

''But if they plan to do some amendments, I also urge my colleagues in the Senate and the Senate President to come up with a bicam as soon as possible para ma-tackle pa ito in the next three days before we end sine die,'' said Zubiri in a statement. DMS
