Two fires blazed through residential areas in Tondo and Port Area, Manila City early Wednesday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection ? National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) reported that the first fire broke out in a residential area made of light materials in Port Area around 12:03am.
The fire reached first and second alarm at 12:04 am and rose to fifth alarm at 12:16am.
Task Force Alpha was declared at 12:24am and the fire was put under control by 5:39am before fire out at 6:59am.
Initial investigation estimated 200 houses burnt down , with 300 families affected.
The second fire broke out at JV Pas Compound in Barangay 123, Tondo reaching the first alarm at 1:56am.It climbed to Task Force Charlie at 3:32am.
BFP-NCR declared the fire under control at 7:09 am and put out at 11:05am.
Five hundred houses occupied by 1,500 families were affected by the blaze.
