Three individuals were injured in a nearly five-four fire that razed residential houses made of light materials in Barangay Obrero, Quezon City on Saturday evening.
In a phone interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun, Senior Fire Officer 4 Rolando Valena, they sustained minor injuries from the incident.
According to Valena, the incident was allegedly caused by an unattended candle on the second floor of one of the residential houses damaged by the fire.
The blaze started at 11:20 pm, and reached its highest, third alarm, at 11:56 pm. It took more than three hours before it went under control at 2:50 am, and was declared fire out by 4 am.
Approximately 1,000 square meters were affected by the fire, with damage estimated at P260,000. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
