The Philippine economy may grow by six percent in 2025 which is higher than the 5.6 percent GDP growth in 2024, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said on Wednesday.

In its latest Asian Development Outlook, ADB said it expects ''stronger demand and sustained public investment.''

The forecast was done before the announcement of the US of reciprocal tariffs on trading partners, including the Philippines.

"Meanwhile, inflation is seen to average 3 percent in 2025 and 2026, which is within the government’s target range", it added.

The forecast growth of the ADB is within the government's growth band for 2025 at six to eight percent for 2025 to 2028. Marie Manalili/DMS
