The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) has extended its operation effective March 26, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced on Tuesday.
In an advisory, LRMC said that the operating hours of LRT-1 will be extended by 30 minutes on weekdays.
"Effective 26 March 2025, LRMC will extend its operating hours for LRT-1 on weekdays, with the last train leaving Dr. Santos Station at 10:30 pm, a 30-minute extension from the previous 10:00 PM schedule, and from Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 10:45 pm, also a 30-minute extension from the previous 10:15 pm schedule", LRMC said.
However, the schedule of the first train departing Dr. Santos and Fernando Poe Jr. stations remains at 4:30 am on weekdays, and 5:00 am on weekends and holidays.
LRMC advised the public " to plan their trips ahead of time. LRT-1 ticket booths close five minutes before the last train departs from the stations".
LRMC President and CEO Enrico Benipayo expressed his support for the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) call "to provide extended service for the benefit of the riding public" while ensuring that the extension period will not significantly affect the maintenance window of LRT-1.
"We shall continue to monitor the situation and adjust accordingly, and rest assured that we will continue to implement initiatives that will allow us to better serve our passengers", he added. Marie Manalili/DMS
