President Ferdinand Marcos has declared April 1 as a regular holiday due to Eid't Fitr.
In his Proclamation No. 839 Thursday, Marcos partially granted the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Affairs to declare the Eid't Fitr on March 31 or April 1 as a national holiday.
The issuance said the declaration aims to "allow the entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters" while observing the holiday.
Eid'l Fitr marks the end of the month-long fasting of Ramadan. DMS
