The Commission on Elections (Comelec) dismissed the petition to disqualify five candidates from the Tulfo clan, led by senatorial survey leader ACT-CIS Partylist Congressman Erwin Tulfo.
The Comelec found the petition to be "insufficient in form".
In a three-page order, the Comelec First Division junked the petition of a lawyer to disqualify senatorial bets Erwin and Ben Tulfo, partylist nominees Jocelyn Pua-Tulfo (ACT-CIS) and Wanda Tulfo-Teo (Turismo), and re-electionist Rep. Ralph Tulfo of Quezon City for being a political dynasty.
In particular, the poll body noted that the petition failed to include the copies of the certificates of candidacy of the Tulfos ''which would have been vital in order to properly verify the necessary information alleged in the Petition."
Asked if the petitioner can file a motion for reconsideration, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said: '' It is possible that if it reaches the Comelec en banc, it can be decided based on the merits." DMS
