Rains are expected to continue in Metro Manila due to easterlies until Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday.
Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said easterlies will affect Metro Manila until Wednesday, causing isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms in the afternoon.
“There will be less chances of rain on Thursday due to the strengthening of the Amihan (northeast monsoon),” Torres said in a phone call interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun.
In other parts of the country, the shear line and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will cause cloudy skies with rains.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected in northern Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Yzabela Velez-White/DMS
