PNP says 22 cases related to BSKE
Twenty-two cases of violence related to the Barangay and Sangguniang
Kabataan elections (BSKE) next Monday were reported on Wednesday by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP public information officer Col Jean Fajardo said 13 incidents involved shooting.
Five cases are in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, four in the Cordilleras, three each in Eastern Visayas and Northern Mindanao, two each in Bicol and Central Visayas, and one each in Ilocos, Calabarzon and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Fajardo said criminal complaints were filed in nine cases while one was lodged in court.
Fajardo said 28 other cases are suspected to be election-related.
Up to 1,785 persons were arrested for violating the gun ban. At least 5,204 firearms were rounded up by the police across the country. DMS
