PNP deploys more than 50,000 cops in cemeteries, transport hubs for All Saints, All Soul Days

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed over 50,000 police officers in cemeteries, memorial parks and columbaria as Filipinos began observing All Saints and All Souls Days on Friday.

Police were also sent to bus terminals, airports, seaports and other areas of converge. The PNP went on heightened alert until Nov.3

In Manila, which is host to four important cemeteries, a total of 100,000 persons have visited these places of remembrances.

Transportation hubs, churches and other areas of convergence have sufficient deployment of police personnel.

The PNP is on heightened alert until Nov. 3 to maximize police visibility nationwide.

PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez on Thursday night conducted surprise inspections of police deployment at some bus terminals in Quezon City. He was satisfied with the security preparations.

“We are checking if the preparations we made for this year’s Undas are properly implemented on the ground,” he said. DMS
