The Philippines will extend humanitarian assistance to disaster-hit Japan, Malacanang said on Tuesday.
In a press briefing in Cavite, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the government will send engineers and doctors and send medicines to western Japan, which was devastated by heavy rains, resulting in floods and mudslides.
Roque could not say the amount to be given to Japan.
He said Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano will coordinate with Japanese Ambassador to Manila Koji Haneda regarding the Philippine aid.
