Duterte hits NPA for "sexually" abusing women
President Rodrigo Duterte slammed on Sunday the communist New People's Army for allegedly molesting or sexually abusing women in some villages.
In a speech in Davao City, Duterte said these were the reports he received from the field.
"You communists, you are roaming around everywhere, and some of you, I have reports, you are into molesting or sexually abusing the people in the farm. You touched the women and others, you are snatching the wives. Is that (your) kind of revolution?," he said.
Duterte has terminated the peace talks with the communist rebels and declared them as terrorists due to the atrocities that they continue to commit.
The President also warned some tribes in the country for allegedly into practice of buying and selling children.
He said the children have ended up in slavery.
"Stop it or else I will treat you just like a drug lord. I'm not saying anything beyond that statement. But slavery must stop. I cannot imagine a human being growing up in a family who did not know where he really came from," he said.
He noted that many children have been kidnapped in Davao.
"I will take a strong stand against this. I will not tolerate it," he stressed. Celerina Monte/DMS
