Duterte pushes through with trips to ASEAN Summit, Indonesia
President Rodrigo Duterte will leave on Monday to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in Laos this week, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said Sunday. .
From Laos, Duterte will proceed to Indonesia for a working visit from September 8 to 9, Andanar told government radio.
Andanar said Duterte will fly out of the country from the Davao International Airport where he will give his departure speech at 2:50 pm Monday.
The ASEAN Summit, which runs from September 6 to 8, is Duterte’s foreign trip since he assumed the presidency on June 30.
Andanar said Executive Secretary Salvador Meldialdea will be in charge while the president is away..
