Duterte’s daughter loses twins
President Rodrigo Duterte's becoming a grandfather of triplets will not happen after his daughter, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, lost two of them.
In a statement released by the Davao City Information Office, it quoted the mayor as announcing Thursday the "fetal demise" of the twins in her womb. The other baby is doing well and fighting for life, she added.
After her visit Monday dawn at the funeral wake of victims of the September 2 Roxas night market bombing, she said she felt a little different and immediately consulted her doctor.
"When I went for a check up last Monday, the doctor said the identical twins don't have heartbeats anymore," Duterte said.
The other baby is doing well, the mayor added.
She said though she was advised by her doctor to get some rest, there are work that need to be done.
"I'm taking it easy on physical activities and taking precautions," she said.
She requested the new Task Force Davao commander to give her peace of mind for 9 months for the safety of the entire Davao City and her child.
"Col. (Erwin Bernard) Neri, kindly give me peace of mind for the next 9 months, although I have 6 more months of my pregnancy, but consider this day as my first day -- Please do not kill him (child in her womb)," she said.
She revealed she was pregnant with triplets on August 19. Celerina Monte
